Help is on the way for Rinda
Haris and Nunung were shocked when their daughter Rinda was born with a cleft lip.
After three days of being unable to nurse, Nunung felt terrified and helpless as her new daughter rapidly lost weight and struggled to breathe.
Their family and neighbors wanted to help. They notified a local social worker, who introduced them to Smile Train partner hospital RS Hermina Galaxy.
The staff at RS Hermina Galaxy helped Nunung with her feeding issues and a surgery date was set.
The results of Rinda’s free cleft surgery were immediate: the new smile allowed her to eat more easily and she could now breathe freely.
